Calqira Privacy Policy

Calqira collects nothing. What you type and what the app calculates never leave your phone. The one exception is the advertising banner, and this page says exactly what it receives.

In short

Calqira collects nothing. What you type and what the app calculates never leave your phone: there is no account, no server, no usage tracking. The one exception is the advertising banner at the bottom of the screen, served by Google, which does receive information about your device — never your calculations.

Who is responsible

Calqira is published by Croxal Digital Studio, an independent developer and the data controller under the GDPR for what this document describes. For any question or request about your data, write to contact@croxal.com.

What the app keeps on your phone

Calqira stores two things, both inside its own private area on the device:

  • Your calculation history, if you leave it switched on: for each entry, the module used, the expression you typed, the result and the date. The 200 most recent entries are kept; older ones fall off on their own.
  • Your settings: language, region, unit system, theme, dark mode, number format, currency, sound, vibration, history on or off, large text, high contrast, reduced motion, decorations, tax rate, tip rate, degrees or radians, favourites and recently used modules.

None of it is sent to anyone, including us: no server receives it, because no server exists. Nor is it copied elsewhere by the system: Android's automatic backup is switched off for this app, and so is device-to-device transfer. The cost is deliberate — after a restore or a new phone, you pick your language, theme and rates again.

How to erase it

  • History screen → clear all, or swipe a single line away.
  • Settings → switch history off, and nothing is recorded at all.
  • Uninstalling the app removes everything, permanently.

Advertising

A banner is shown at the bottom of the screen. It is served by Google AdMob, and it is the only part of the app that talks to the outside world.

What Google's SDK receives:

  • the device advertising ID, which you can reset or delete in the Android settings;
  • your IP address, from which Google infers an approximate location — the app requests no location permission and never touches GPS;
  • technical information about the device: model, Android version, language, screen size;
  • your interaction with the ad: impression, click.

What Google's SDK does not receive: what you type, your results, your history, your favourites, your settings. The ad request goes out with no targeting attached: the app sends no keyword, no content and no category derived from how you use it. Nothing you calculate goes into that request.

This data is processed by Google under its own rules, set out in how Google uses information for advertising and the Google Privacy Policy. We have no access to it: on our side we see only aggregate totals in the AdMob console — impressions, clicks and revenue — which identify nobody.

Your consent

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, a consent form provided by Google (the User Messaging Platform) appears on first launch. No ad is requested before you have answered, and if the form fails to load, no ad is requested at all: the space simply stays empty.

The legal basis for advertising is your consent. You can change or withdraw it at any time: SettingsAd privacy options. Where local law does not require that consent, the form does not appear and the settings entry is hidden.

Permissions

This is the complete list of permissions the app declares, and why each one is there.

PermissionWhy
INTERNETTo load the advertising banner. Nothing else: the calculations happen on the device.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATETo know whether there is a connection before requesting an ad.
AD_IDTo read the device advertising ID, used by AdMob.
ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION ACCESS_ADSERVICES_TOPICSThe Privacy Sandbox interfaces on Android 13 and later, used by Google's SDK.
WAKE_LOCK FOREGROUND_SERVICEAdded by Google's SDK. Calqira has no background service and does not run when you are not using it.
DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSIONAn internal permission created by the AndroidX libraries so that a component inside the app cannot be reached by other apps. It grants access to nothing.

Calqira requests no camera, no microphone, no contacts, no location, no access to your files, no phone and no calendar.

Children

Calqira is not aimed at children and is not directed to them. We collect no data, from a child or from anyone else. If you are a parent and a question comes up regardless, write to us at contact@croxal.com.

Your rights

The GDPR gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability over your personal data. Here is what that means in practice:

  • On our side: we hold no data about you. There is therefore nothing to hand over, correct or delete — and that is also the answer we would give to a request.
  • On your phone: the data is yours and you act on it directly, by the means described in section 2.
  • On the advertising side: withdraw or change your consent from SettingsAd privacy options. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in the Android settings (GoogleAds), and manage your preferences with Google through My Ad Center. A request concerning data held by Google has to be addressed to Google.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in France, the CNIL; in the United Kingdom, the ICO.

Transfers outside the European Union

We transfer no data anywhere. Google may process the advertising data described in section 3 outside the European Economic Area, under the safeguards it puts in place and describes in its own privacy policy.

Retention and security

The data described in section 2 stays on your device until you erase it or uninstall the app. It lives in the app's private storage, kept apart from other apps by Android itself. We keep nothing on our side, which rules out a server-side breach by construction: there is no server.

Changes

The date at the top of this document is the version in force. If something material changes — a new third party, or any data that starts leaving the device — this page is updated and the date changes with it.
